Emergency Care
If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency, immediately call your doctor or 911.
Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, West Palm Hospital’s Emergency Room is fully equipped with modern life support equipment and is staffed by specially trained emergency physicians, nurses and technicians.
Primary Certified Stroke Center
West Palm Hospital is a primary stroke center certified by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization, which accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.
Our Technology
Among the technology used in the Emergency Room are eMAR (electronic medication administration record) and an EDM (emergency documentation module). eMAR improves patient safety through the use of a patient ID armband which contains the patient’s complete medication profile and documents administration of medicine. The EDM enables the ER staff to document in one seamless documentation tool when a patient arrives, information gathered during triage, all assessments and interventions up to and including discharge or admission.
Emergency Room Expansion
West Palm Hospital’s ER is close to completing the multi-million dollar expansion that will enlarge the current space, streamline efficiency from admission to discharge, provide increased security and patient confidentiality, along with a more comfortable waiting area for family members.
