The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a safe and caring setting that includes an intensive level of psychiatric treatment in an outpatient setting.
The primary goal of PHP is to optimize outcomes through individualized treatment in a caring and therapeutic environment. Individual, family and group counseling will help improve a patient's level of functioning and reduce symptoms to prevent relapse or hospitalization. Each patient participates in a formal comprehensive clinical evaluation completed by our team of clinicians, which consists of psychiatrists, social workers and registered nurses. Individualized treatment plans incorporate the results of the multidisciplinary evaluations to include the patient's strengths, limitations and goals for treatment.
Referrals & Assessments
Referrals may be made by the individual, psychiatrists, mental health professionals, social service agencies or family members.

The Adult Evening Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to treat and improve the lives of adults suffering from both psychiatric disorders and addictions. IOP allows the individual to continue daily routines, such as work or school, and participate in treatment at the end of the day. Frequent sessions can help to maintain abstinence, improve mental health and improve quality of life.
Recent studies by the National Institute for Mental Health conclude that diagnosing and treating emotional and mental health problems more than doubles the success rate for people with alcohol and/or drug dependence. While dedicated to excellence, our Intensive Outpatient Program provides a co-occurring comprehensive treatment program including specialized evaluations to meet the needs of each individual.
For more information, please call (561) 881-2692 or download our IOP Brochure.
West Palm Hospital's Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), for teens ages 13 through 17, is designed to provide behavioral health outpatient intervention for adolescents who have needs that are too complex to be effectively managed in an office outpatient setting. Each child's treatment is individualized based on specific behavioral goals identified and agreed upon by the family, child and professional staff.
The best way to eliminate unwanted behaviors is to increase positive behaviors. Our Intensive Outpatient Program provides a nurturing, healing environment in which experienced professionals find and focus on the positive within each child. In addition, group therapy and social skills training cultivate each child's ability to form rewarding relationships with others. Our team includes a Board Certified pediatric psychiatrist, social workers, nurses, family specialists and a specialized educational coordinator. Treatment team members work together to plan and implement individualized treatment and after-care program. Medication evaluation and education will be provided as needed.
The primary treatment goal is to improve the child's total functioning, including his or her ability to:
- Manage emotions
- Improve communication skills
- Decrease aggression
- Succeed in school
- Relate constructively to others
- Use coping skills
- Control impulses and behaviors
- Improve frustration tolerance
- Engage in cooperative, harmonious relationships with family, peers and others
